Privacy notice

How we handle what you send us.

This website collects personal information in one way only: when you fill in a form. This notice says what we collect, why, where it goes and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 8 September 2026.

Who we are

Soil First Initiative CIC is a community interest company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales under company number 17446391, with its registered office at Unit 4 Stanley Centre, Kelvin Way, Crawley, RH10 9SE. SOFIIN is its trading name. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website.

What we collect

Only what you type into our forms: your name, your email address, and where the form asks for them, your organisation, your sector, the catchment or region you are interested in, and your message. There are no accounts and no logins on this site.

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry, and if you ask us to, to arrange a conversation about working together. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us, and where you are asking about a partnership or a contract, the steps you have asked us to take before entering into one. We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or share them with anyone for their own purposes.

Where it goes

This website is hosted by Netlify, which also handles the forms. When you press send, your submission is stored on Netlify’s systems and passed to us. Netlify processes it on our behalf under its own terms and privacy policy. The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request for the font files to Google. This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics.

How long we keep it

For as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, and for up to two years after our last contact with you, so that we can pick up the conversation where it left off. If a partnership or contract follows, the records of that relationship are kept for as long as the relationship and the law require.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our using it. To do any of these, use the contact form or write to the registered office above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
